Graciousness

Mercy & Gratitude Triumphs Over Judgment & Bitterness

So many people, especially women, grow bitter and harsh. This is very sad. It flies in the face of graciousness. It comes from cultivating the wrong attitudes.

If we nurse hurt and wounds, and replay conversations or situations that troubled us, we will wind up growing a garden of bitterness and a suspicious and harsh spirit. However, if we grow kindness and forgiveness, this will blossom a spirit of love and mercy. Focus on someone’s gifts, and we remember the debt that you owe the Lord which He has forgiven. Place yourself in someone else’s position, and sympathize with weaknesses. Graciousness puts someone else’s feelings, wishes, interests etc. first.

It is good to seek the Lord and ask for His blessing and growth in your life. But remember to praise Him. Recount His goodness, holiness, righteousness, and wondrous deeds. Stand in awe of His glory. Thank Him for His blessings. Do not pine over what He hasn’t given, but rejoice in Him, and serve Him with what He has given. Yes, seek to serve Him in greater ways in your life, and it is good to seek after family, church, and community as well. But shine forth His glory and light, and praise Him.

This leads to a truly gracious life. Blessings to all!
